Buyers wanting to buy a British van now have another option in the Fiat Scudo. While it might appear to be an Italian model, it’s now being inbuilt in Luton alongside other versions badged as Citroen, Peugeot or Vauxhall models.
Identical in all but cosmetic details to the Vauxhall Vivaro, the Fiat Scudo will be produced in both right-hand drive form for the UK market and left-hand drive for our European neighbours. Production will also continue at Hordain, France, where the battery electric e-Scudo version is manufactured for all markets.
This is the first time that any Fiat vehicle has been manufactured in the UK, where it’s joined by models badged as the Vauxhall Vivaro, Opel Vivaro, Citroen Jumpy, Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert.
Mark Noble, Luton plant director, said:
“It's great news for Luton Plant to start manufacturing the Fiat Professional Scudo, this means we now produce all of the Stellantis brands mid-sized LCVs, for both the UK and the European markets.”
