B-On's innovative electric LCVs charging into the UK

Innovative commercial vehicle manufacturer B-On has teamed up with International Motors (IM) as it launches into the UK. The pair have signed an agreement which will see IM importing and distributing the brand’s all-electric four-vehicle product line-up. The first vehicles are expected to arrive later this year.

The Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham saw the launch of the brand, with two of the four fully electrified models, Max and Giga, on display, both available in Box and Pure specifications. Each is true to its name, with Box coming with a large cargo box, complete with an integrated rear step and side step for easy access, and Pure provides just the van's chassis frame, allowing versatility for customised cargo and passenger solutions.

IM will, as part of the agreement, support the distribution of B-On's products within the UK, including sales and aftersales functionality. To support sales, IM will provide a network of dealers across the country, with the initial focus likely to fall in urban areas with an emphasis on the products as sustainable electric delivery units. IM will also handle warranty execution and parts distribution for aftersales.

While it might be new to the UK, B-On has been producing and deploying electric fleets globally since 2017 and already has over 20,000 vehicles on the road. The company's business model innovatively combines all the elements of the electrification process, including such elements as charging, telematics, service and maintenance and financing, through a single point of contact, simplifying things for the customer.

The agreement with IM sees B-On join pickup manufacturer Isuzu, Subaru cars and China’s new GWM Ora nameplate under the West Midlands-based firm's control.

Stefan Krause, Founder, Chairman and CEO of B-On, commented:
“Announcing this strategic relationship with International Motors Limited marks an exciting milestone for B-On in our journey towards widespread electrification of commercial fleets, especially in the UK — such a large and important market for eLCVs. With IM’s well-established network on our side, particularly in cities where electrification is quickly becoming a top priority, we can be the first to offer a low-cost, zero-emission commercial fleet solution for customers.”
Managing Director of International Motors Limited, William Brown, added:
“Introducing B-On to IM’s arsenal of automotive brands will further diversify the company, helping us to take the necessary steps required towards a more sustainable future. The addition of B-On to IM’s commercial vehicle lineup will appeal to a wide range of businesses and expand our potential fleet clientele.”

We have just taken delivery of a new VW Touraeg, which we secured through Select Car Leasing (SCL). We would like to thank Shane Newton for overseeing the entire process and keeping us informed at every stage, particularly when (through no fault of his), the car was delayed. This is second occasion we have sourced a vehicle using SCL and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. During the course of our last order, we were contacted by a number of different people, depending upon availability and the nature of the call. Without exception they were all friendly and knowledgeable and gave the sense that they had the customers best interests at heart.
