Volkswagen has unveiled a new fully-loaded trim level for its all-wheel drive Touareg - the R-Line Tech Plus model.
The Touareg sits at the top of VW’s range of SUVs, ahead of the mid-sized Tiguan and the seven-seat Tiguan Allspace.
At the very top of the Touareg tree sits the all singing, all dancing Black Edition model, which comes complete with goodies like adaptive chassis control and the VW ‘Intelligent Park Assist’ system, which will automatically steer into a space for you.
But now there’s a new trim that sits just a rung down from the Black Edition summit - and the R-Line Tech Plus Touareg makes for a tantalising leasing proposition indeed.
VW says it gets an extra £5,000 worth of additional features, over and above the ‘R-Line Tech’ trim, for just an added £1,720 on the asking price.
And for lease customers it means ‘more style, comfort and useful features’ for your money, according to Volkswagen.
You can expect 21 inch black alloys, pothole-disguising air suspension, a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, a heated windscreen, and black roof rails.
The cabin also benefits from a 30 colour ambient light package, heated leather-wrapped sports steering wheel with shift paddles, and an ‘Innovision’ cockpit with a 15 inch touchscreen.
There are two engines up for grabs, both of them 3.0 litre diesels. One has power of 231 PS, the other 286 PS, and the latter of which can propel you down the road from 0-62 mpg in just 6.3 seconds.
A Volkswagen spokesperson tells us:
“The Touareg is the luxury flagship of Volkswagen’s extensive SUV line-up, with exceptionally high levels of refinement and technology.”
