The range of the Vauxhall Mokka Electric has been boosted from 209 miles to 252 miles - thanks to a bigger new battery.
The Mokka Electric - which won a special Auto Trader award for design and sustainability earlier this year - has, up until now, been fitted with a 50 kWh battery.
But that has been replaced with a new 54 kWh lithium ion set-up.
And it doesn’t just mean you can drive further than before, there’s also an increase in power.
You’ll now enjoy decent oomph of 156 hp - a rise of 20 hp - resulting in the Mokka Electric being able to accelerate from 0-62 mph in under 10 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 93 mph.
A Vauxhall spokesperson says: “Despite its increased range, the Mokka Electric’s compact battery size and efficient packaging ensures no space is lost in the passenger or luggage compartment.”
It means the Mokka Electric retains its 350 litre boot, which is more than the Hyundai Kona Electric but less than the Volkswagen ID.3.
The Mokka Electric supports rapid charging up to 100 kW, which means the battery can be replenished from 0-80% in around 30 minutes.
You also get an 11 kW on-board charger as standard for you to connect with a home wallbox.
A Vauxhall spokesperson adds: “The Mokka was the first Vauxhall to be available with a fully electric powertrain from launch.
“Featuring the brand’s bold and pure design language, it was also the first model to introduce the Vizor front end and fully digitised Pure Panel cockpit.”
Order books for the updated Vauxhall Mokka Electric will open from March 2023 with first deliveries arriving in the Spring.
And rivals for your monthly leasing fee also include the Kia Niro EV, Mazda MX-30, and the MG ZS EV.
