Maserati has revealed its first ever fully-electric SUV - the achingly-cool Grecale Folgore.
In case you need a reminder, the Grecale is a mid-sized SUV that sits behind the full-fat Levante in the Maserati range, and which makes a great lease rival to vehicles like the Porsche Macan and Audi SQ5.
And now the Italian firm has unveiled the Grecale Folgore - which is powered exclusively by electricity.
The Grecale Folgore follows hot on the heels of the electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore.
Details surrounding what battery the Grecale Folgore will get, and what sort of oomph it might have, are so far lacking.
But you might look to the GranTurismo Folgore to see what it might be capable of. And if the electric Grecale is anything like its battery-powered GT stablemate, it’ll be potent indeed.
The GranTurismo Folgore can access power of 771 PS and can accelerate at face-melting speeds, with 0-62 mph going by in just 2.7 seconds.
Despite that considerable get-up-and-go, the electric GT still has a range of up to 279 miles between charges.
If the electric Grecale can get anywhere near those sorts of performance stats, it’ll be one of the lease cars to look forward to next year, when it gets an official launch.
A Maserati spokesperson said:
“Electrification will play a key role in Maserati’s future strategy, with a commitment to produce electric versions of all its models by 2025 and full-electric vehicles alone by 2030. It is an ambitious plan that reflects the audacity that has always defined the Trident's DNA, driving it forwards towards the future, where its success will rely on its uniquely Italian character, its ability to arouse emotions with quality and exclusive products, and the magic of innovation. All this is exactly what the automotive industry will require in the future.”
In the meantime you can enjoy a traditionally-fuelled Maserati Grecale lease with Select Car Leasing from £847 per month*.
