- Super Venom Mustang gets 850 hp
- Born to ‘rip, roar and shred tyres’
- Based on Ford Mustang Dark Horse and revealed by Hennessey
- Limited to just 91 units globally
This is no ordinary Ford Mustang - this is the 850 bhp Super Venom. And it’s here to rip, roar and shred tyres.
The Super Venom has been created by US performance peddlers Hennessey, an outfit based out of Texas but which can ship cars to the UK.
Hennessey loves nothing more than getting its mitts on a bog standard muscle car and then handing it obscene amounts of power and exterior bling.
Here they’ve taken the Ford Mustang Dark Horse - which you can lease with Select - and upped the power from around 450 bhp to a gargantuan 850 bhp.
It also boasts 880 Nm of torque and a special ‘VenomAero’ carbon fibre aero kit.
Just 91 units will be made and that ‘91’ figure is a deliberate attempt to commemorate the year Hennessey was founded, 1991.
John Hennessey, company Founder and CEO, said: "Over the years we have only branded our most potent cars with our ‘Venom’ trademark: Venom Vipers, Venom GT and most recently our Venom F5. We are excited to unveil our Super Venom Mustang as it offers supercar performance and can now be ordered directly from Ford dealers with a full warranty!”
Performance enhancements see Hennessey adding a high-flow air induction system, high-performance supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump, plus Hennessey’s engine management system to boost the Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine’s power to 850 bhp.
The regular Ford Mustang Dark Horse you can lease here in the UK can accelerate from 0-62 mph in around 4.0 seconds flat. This Hennessey version, however, can do that same sprint in 3.2 seconds.
The body kit adds an aggressive front splitter, a functional front hood vent, side skirts, functional front fender louvers, a rear deck lid with an integrated duck bill, and a tall, fixed, rear track wing.
There are two distinct flavours - the Super Venom Dark Horse or the Super Venom GT - and you can enjoy either a 10-speed automatic gearbox or 6-speed manual.
Prices start at $149,950 (or £118,413 in UK money).
