This is the first ever electric MINI Convertible… but there’s a catch.
The eye-catching drop-top has been launched after a one-off version received overwhelmingly-positive feedback when it was teased last year.
But, sadly, MINI says its electric Convertible will - for now - have a limited production run, meaning only 150 vehicles are destined for the UK market.
So, you might have to console yourself with the fact that the petrol-powered Mini Convertible still makes a cracking lease car, especially as we start dreaming of warmer weather.
With the electric MINI Convertible models that will arrive in Blighty, you’ll have a choice of just two paint schemes - ‘Enigmatic Black’ or ‘White Silver’.
They get unique 17 inch alloys, heated leather sports seats, heated Nappa leather steering wheel, and ambient lighting.
There’s a head-up display that conveys all of the electric MINI Convertible’s ‘eDrive’ data, such as electric range and current energy consumption.
And there’s also sophisticated driver assistance tech on board, such as active cruise control with a ‘stop and go’ function.
Like the regular MINI Electric hatchback, the electric MINI Convertible gets a 32.6 kWh battery that unlocks power of 186 PS and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 8.2 seconds.
Meanwhile you can also expect a range of up to 124 miles between charges.
The electric MINI Convertible will go on sale in April 2023, priced at £52,500.
But if you don’t manage to snag one, take a look at the petrol equivalent (below) instead - which you can lease with Select Car Leasing from around £341 per month*.
To get the sort of power on offer with the electric version, you’ll be looking at a Cooper S model, which has power of 180 PS and which will whip along from 0-62 mph in just 6.9 seconds.
The John Cooper Works Convertible is even more potent - and good-looking - coming with 234 PS and aggressive exterior bodywork.
