- Aston Martin Valhalla in final testing phase
- Production begins this spring
- Plug-in hybrid with 1,079 PS
- Priced from £850,000 and limited to 999 units
Aston Martin’s plug-in hybrid Valhalla has been enjoying a blast on UK roads ahead of full production beginning this spring.
The Valhalla is Aston Martin’s ‘ultimate driver's supercar’, an F1-inspired thunderbolt that’ll accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds.
It’s a car that’ll start being built imminently, priced from around £850,000 and limited to just 999 units.
And these pics show the Valhalla being put through its paces on both the road and track, no doubt whetting the appetite of those lucky enough to have ordered one.
Simon Newton, Director of Vehicle Performance and Attributes, said: “For the engineering and dynamics teams, the unprecedented dynamic bandwidth that distinguishes Valhalla from its rivals has presented many new opportunities during development. With a combination of 1079 PS and 1100 Nm via the hybrid powertrain, extreme performance is a given. To harness and refine the power to deliver an exceptional supercar experience on both road and track has meant tireless work has gone into the integration of active aerodynamics and integrated control systems.”
Valhalla is a car of ‘firsts’: Aston Martin’s first series production mid-engined supercar, first plug-in hybrid and first production vehicle with a dedicated EV range capability.
It’s powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 engine – the highest performing V8 engine ever fitted to an Aston Martin – that's mated to an 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) which incorporates an e-Motor and electronic rear differential (E-diff).
Front axle twin motors feature torque vectoring and contribute to the all-wheel drive system.
Top speed for the Valhalla is electronically limited at 217 mph while you’ll be able to travel around 8.6 miles using electricity alone.
When it comes to rivals, the Aston Martin Valhalla will do battle with fellow PHEVs like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Lamborghini Revuelto.
