The Volkswagen ID.4 is set to make an eye-catching Hollywood cameo, appearing in the upcoming movie Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the smash-hit Marvel blockbuster, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be the third flick in the Ant-Man series, following 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
It’ll once again see actor Paul Rudd reprising his role as Scott Lang, aka shape-shifting superhero Ant-Man, and Evangeline Lilly will join the action once more as The Wasp, one of the Marvel Universe’s most powerful female heroes.
Also appearing in the flick’s cast list is the VW ID.4 - an all-electric urban SUV that sits in the Volkswagen range between the ID.3 and the ID.5.
So you can expect to see the ID.4 on the silver screen when the film opens in the UK on Friday February 17th.
Gilbert Heise, Head of Global Brand Management and Consumer Insights at Volkswagen, said:
“Marvel Studios films rank among the most successful movies of all time and Ant-Man is one of the most likeable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Integrating the ID.4 in the movie and the accompanying campaign enables us to reach millions of people all over the world.
“What’s more, the Ant-Man character is a perfect fit for our brand: he is likeable, authentic and has a great sense of humour.”
A TV advert has also been created as part of the product placement, showing Ant-Man and The Wasp fighting over the ID.4’s keys, with a voiceover artist telling customers, ‘shrinking technology not included’.
As for the ID.4, you don’t have to worry about a diminutive range between charges…
The ID.4 ‘Pro Performance’ model has power of 204 PS and can travel up to 328 miles on a single charge.
There’s also a sporty performance variant - the adventure-ready, all-wheel drive GTX - which takes the power up to 299 PS and will see the ID.4 accelerating from 0-62mph in just 6.3 seconds.
