ID. Buzz Cargo Review

Introduction

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo is the fully-electric panel van sibling to the regular, family-friendly ID. Buzz MPV. It was first launched in 2022.

The ID. Buzz Cargo’s appeal is obvious. There are clean, retro-futuristic lines, reminiscent of the VW’s iconic ‘Bulli’ bus from the 1950s and 60s and the cabin boasts car-like levels of comfort.

There’s also an abundance of power, even with entry-level models, while an electric range of up to 276 miles between charges should provide assurance to even the busiest of businesses.

A Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo lease is extremely straightforward when it comes to finding the right model for your needs.

Unlike some other electric panel vans, there’s just one size, with no differing heights or wheelbases.

You can expect a payload of up to 607 kg, depending on the trim level, as well as 3.9 m3 of load volume and a towing capacity of 1,000 kg. That’s less load-lugging ability than some rivals, including the new Maxus eDeliver 5, but very few other competitors will win admiring glances like the ID. Buzz Cargo can.

Each ID. Buzz Cargo lease is underpinned by a 79 kWh battery that unlocks a range of up to 276 miles between charges while rapid 185 kW DC charging can replenish the energy from 5% to 80% in around 30 minutes.

You can expect, as a minimum, power of 286 PS on the latest variants alongside 560 Nm of torque, which is generous to say the least.

The ID. Buzz Cargo can also be leased with all-wheel drive, with those ‘4Motion’ models upping the power output to 340 PS while retaining the same 79 kWh battery.

There are two trim levels - Commerce and Commerce Plus. The gateway ‘Commerce’ trim boasts heated seats, front and rear parking sensors, and a 12.9-inch colour screen, while ‘Commerce Plus’ adds extras like 19-inch rims, body-coloured bumpers, and adaptive cruise control.
