The best-selling electric van in the UK is... the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, once again, according to the latest industry stats.
The Vivaro Electric has topped the table for the last two years as the most-registered electric van.
Now The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has revealed registration details for October, showing that it is still hitting the No.1 spot.
Year-to-date figures show that Vivaro is taking the lead on sales, while its smaller sibling, the Combo Electric, is taking the bronze in third place. When the sales of both models are combined, we can see that almost a third of all UK sales of electric vans are Vauxhalls.
Registrations for the year overall — including diesel, hybrid and petrol vans — are increased by 20.5%, with the third place diesel-powered Vivaro seeing 16,457 registrations, behind the Ford Transit with 23,831 registrations and the Ford Transit Custom with 34,301 vans taking to the road.
Vauxhall managing director, James Taylor: “Vauxhall continues to be the electric van maker of choice for UK businesses, with the Vivaro Electric and Combo Electric both posting impressive sales rankings so far this year. Coupled with the recently launched Stellantis e-LCV Grant, UK businesses have embraced our e-LCV offering, demonstrating that van drivers can benefit hugely from electrification.”
SMMT chief executive, Mike Hawes: “As the crucial pre-Christmas delivery period commences, there is a clear appetite for fleets to be fitted out with the latest vans – and it is of critical importance that those vans are the latest, cleanest zero-emission models. With van makers committed to decarbonisation, the upcoming Autumn Statement is the moment for government to send the right signal to operators ahead of the introduction of the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate. Measures that address van-specific infrastructure challenges and enable more operators across the UK to make the switch are essential as we move towards a pivotal stage of the transition.”
You can lease the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric with Select Van Leasing from £519 per month*, ex VAT, while the Combo Electric can be enjoyed from £510 per month*, ex VAT.
