Vauxhall Simplifies Van Range and Cuts Costs

Vauxhall has cut 20% of its LCV model range to simplify its offering. Prices have been adjusted downwards, too, alongside improvements to equipment levels. There’s even a new sporty-looking Vivaro model coming.

But while the model range has contracted, the name badges on the electric models have done the opposite, with Combo-e, Vivaro-e and Movano-e being rebadged to Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric and Movano Electric, respectively.

Vauxhall's New Van Trim Levels

The LCV model range isn’t the only thing that has been trimmed down. Customers now have just two variants to choose from across the ranges, Prime and Pro, replacing Dynamic, Sportive, Elite, and Edition trims. These are available for Combo and Vivaro, but Movano will only be available in the Prime trim level.

Prime, the entry-level specification model, features updated technology and now comes with a touchscreen display and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. Combo Prime models feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while Vivaro and Movano models get 7.0- and 5.0-inch screens, respectively.

Combo and Vivaro models have automatic headlights as standard, with Vivaro also having automatic windscreen wipers. Vivaro Prime and Movano Prime models have rear parking sensors fitted for added convenience and safety.

Higher specification Pro models (only available on the Combo and Vivaro vans) include satellite navigation with three years of traffic updates, a rear-view camera, and Vauxhall’s ‘FlexCargo’ load-through bulkhead. To confuse matters, all Movano models (sold exclusively in Prime trim) are fitted with satellite navigation as standard. Combo Pro models feature rear parking sensors as fitted to the Vivaro and Movano Prime models, but not the Combo Prime model.

Despite the surprisingly complex range simplification, Vauxhall has introduced another new model, the Vivaro GS, in both diesel and electric forms. With striking styling updates and an upgraded interior, the Vivaro GS reintroduces the 180hp 2.0-lite diesel model, while the Vivaro Electric GS uses the same 136hp motor as the rest of the Vivaro Electric range.

Option Packs for Vauxhall Vans

If the Prime and Pro models don’t provide quite what you need, Vauxhall has introduced several option packs for its LCV range.

The Design Pack adds body-coloured cladding and bumpers, as well as stylish wheel covers, while the Safety Pack boosts driver assistance features, adding lane keep assist, speed sign recognition, automatic emergency braking and driver monitoring. Adaptive cruise control and blind spot alert are also included in this pack, but only for Vivaro models.

The Worksite Pack enhances the vehicle’s ground clearance and adds IntelliGrip, a full-size spare wheel and an engine protection plate.

Specify the Cargo Pack on Combo models to add a FlexCargo load-through bulkhead and bench seat, storage hooks, LED interior lights and an electronic parking brake.

Vauxhall LCV Pricing and Availability

This change in trim structure does provide some significant savings for customers. Each Combo variant now costs £1,800 less than it previously did, while Vivaro models are reduced by an impressive £3,000. The most significant price reduction is on Movano models, with a decrease of £7,500 across variants.

All of the new model ranges are available to order now, with deliveries for the new Combo and Movano beginning in November this year. The new Vivaro and Vivaro GS range will arrive in January 2023.

I could not recommend Select enough and the amazing service I had from my consultant Shane Newton. Shane regularly updated me on progress of my new vehicle, and was always so helpful in answering any queries I had regarding my order throughout the whole process - no question was silly - he always responded promptly whether that be through email or phone call. I just received my new vehicle last week, and Shane was in contact right away to ensure the handover was seamless and that I was happy with my new vehicle! Needless to say I was very happy with the earlier than anticipated delivery - Christmas has came early! This is my second vehicle with Select and yet another excellent service. I could not fault anything and want to thank Shane once again for all of his help!
