Vauxhall has pepped up its Vivaro van by reintroducing the powerful 180hp engine to create the sporty Vivaro GS. Alongside the extra power, the Vivaro GS also features striking styling updates and an upgraded interior.
A new lip spoiler at the front of the Vivaro GS adds to the road presence, further enhanced by adding side skirts with integrated front mudguards. The rear is adorned with GS-specific features, too, including an integrated two-piece spoiler and a new rear bumper. 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels with high-load capacity tyres complete the exterior aesthetic.
Moving inside, hand-crafted eco-leather seats with GS logos are now standard, leaving you in no doubt that this is no ordinary Vivaro. Finished in bold red stitching and perforated material for ventilation, the seats combine sporty styling with comfort.
Vauxhall is offering the Vivaro GS with diesel and electric power options. The 2.0-litre, 180hp diesel engine is unique to the GS. It has a 35hp advantage over the next most potent model in the range and, paired with the standard eight-speed automatic gearbox, provides impressive performance. In Panel Van guise, the Vivaro GS produces 145g/km of CO2 and can achieve, according to WLTP testing, up to 51.3mpg.
The GS trim will be available on the Vivaro Electric, but only in Panel Van configuration. The Vivaro Electric GS has a zero-emissions range of up to 189 miles from the 75kWh battery, under WLTP testing. The battery unit can support charging at up to 100kW, with an 80% charge taking just 45 minutes and adding around 150 miles of range. Range can be essential to any task, so be sure to take a look through our guide on the official vs. real-world battery range.
Cargo volumes are identical in both models, with a load volume of 5.8m3. Payload is limited to 1,000kg.
The Vauxhall Vivaro GS is available for customers to order now. Prices start from £41,000 for the diesel-powered panel van and rise to £55,000 for the Electric GS. A Double Cab version, fitted with the diesel engine, has a list price of £44,095.
