Renault Trucks has announced the launch of two new specifications within its Trafic range, namely the Trafic Red Edition Caged Dropside and the Trafic Red Edition Chiller, as part of the expansion of its light commercial vehicle offering.
These new LCV vehicles are backed by Renault Trucks' extensive 35-year experience in the conversion marketplace, its century-long expertise in HGVs, and the broad reach of its commercial vehicle distribution and repair dealer network.
Grahame Neagus, head of LCV at Renault Trucks UK and Ireland:
“For several years, Renault Trucks has been focused on increasing its market share and penetration through innovation and a compelling tailored proposition that is set to continue with the launch of these new Renault Trucks Trafic variants. Our customers appreciate the versatility, reliability, and performance of the Trafic range, as well as the ability to personalise the vehicle to the individual’s needs and activities, and these new variants take this to the next level. With a wider range of specifications to choose from, we are confident that we can offer our customers the perfect LCV vehicle to suit their needs.”
Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition Caged Dropside
A versatile vehicle that can be used for various applications, the Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition Caged Dropside is particularly suitable for urban environments where space is limited, and a compact, highly manoeuvrable vehicle is necessary.
Built around the Platform Cab model, the new van is offered with either a Caged Dropside body or a standard Dropside body, with a typical payload capacity of 850kg with caged sides or 950kg without. Available with an L2 wheelbase and a single H1 cab, it’s powered by a Euro 6 Step E diesel engine that produces 150hp, transmitted to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The approved conversion has been carried out by P.D. Stevens & Sons and boasts a range of unique features. These include a sloping alloy plank floor designed for effortless unloading of cargo, cab high drop-down mesh sides in addition to the conventional alloy dropsides, full-height rear mesh doors, and underfloor tool storage with lockable doors on both sides. The vehicle is also fully compliant with Chapter 8 regulations, with LED and strobe lighting, and chevrons.
Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition Chiller
Approved convertors, Gray and Adams, have transformed the high-specification Platform Cab into the Trafic Red Edition Chiller, which features a refrigerated chiller box body that can be customised to include a freezer or dual compartment. This model is ideal for transporting food, plant, or pharmaceutical products that need to be kept chilled.
The Trafic Red Edition Chiller offers more space than a regular refrigerated van and provides a payload capacity of 865 to 1,000kg. It also boasts a single door for nearside access and twin doors at the back.
The van has a moveable bulkhead for dual temperatures and an electric standby feature. Like the Caged Dropside model, it’s available with an L2 wheelbase, single H1 cab, Euro 6 Step E 150hp engine, and a six-speed manual gearbox.
