Citroen has made some new year changes to the trim levels of its LCV range, slimming them down to Enterprise Edition and Driver Edition specifications. The first iterations were introduced with the Berlingo van, replacing the previous Enterprise Pro and Driver Pro trim levels.
However, don’t be fooled into thinking that this means consistency between trim levels across each model, as what’s included with the new nameplates varies on the small Berlingo, medium Dispatch and large Relay vans.
Citroen Berlingo
The compact Berlingo and electric e-Berlingo are available as panel vans in M and XL lengths in both Enterprise Edition and Driver Edition trim. The five-seater Crew Van, however, is limited to the longer XL variant and only the Enterprise trim.
Enterprise Edition models — the entry-level to the range — are fitted with air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows and electrically adjustable door mirrors. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available via an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, which provides a DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
Stepping up to the Driver Edition models will add automatic windscreen wipers, rear parking sensors and reversing camera, and heated door mirrors. The infotainment system gets an upgrade, too, with the addition of satellite navigation. 16-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured side rubbing strips, and rear bumper enhance the exterior look, making it distinct from Enterprise Edition at a glance.
Practicality is also improved with the Driver Edition trim level by the ‘Extenso’ modular folding passenger bench seat with pivoting writing table and additional storage, which could be a convenient asset for those using the vehicle as a mobile office.
Disappointingly, important safety equipment, such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and distance alert, remain as cost options on both models.
Prices now start from £19,020 plus VAT for an entry-level Berlingo M Enterprise Edition 110hp petrol model, rising to £24,535 for a Berlingo XL Driver Edition 130hp diesel with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The electric e-Berlingo ranges from £31,085 to £33,540.
Citroen Dispatch
Like the Berlingo, the medium-sized Dispatch and electric e-Dispatch follow the same format. The panel vans are available in M or XL body lengths in the new Enterprise Edition and Driver Edition trims. Unlike the Berlingo, the Dispatch Crew Van is available in both body lengths, although the high-specification Driver Edition model is limited to the shorter M length.
Enterprise Edition models feature cruise control, electric windows and electric door mirrors. A 7.0-inch infotainment screen is also fitted, which features Bluetooth connectivity and a DAB radio, and includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The dual passenger bench seat has a storage tray which aids practicality.
The Driver Edition trim level sees the addition of front fog lights, automatic lights with LED daylight running lights, automatic windscreen wipers, and heated door mirrors. The dual passenger seat is more sophisticated, too, with a fold-up outer seat with a load-through flap and a fold-down writing table in the back of the central seat. The infotainment system, although small, gains a navigation programme and displays the image from a reversing camera.
Once again, the Driver has some external differences from Enterprise, with 17-inch steel wheels with wheel trims, body-coloured front and rear bumpers, side rubbing strips, and exterior door handles.
Enhanced safety features are available, which include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and blind spot assistance, but only as part of a £1,000 optional safety pack.
Prices start at £25,170 plus VAT for the Dispatch M 100hp diesel, rising to £34,070 Crew Van Driver Edition 180hp automatic. Electric models start at £38,210 and go up to £45,060.
Citroen Relay
There may be nine combinations of length and height available from the Relay and electric e-Relay range, but it’s limited to just one Enterprise Edition trim level — there’s no Driver Edition available here. As with the Berlingo and Dispatch, the single-specification model includes air conditioning, cruise control and electric front windows but also gains heated electrically adjustable mirrors.
There’s the same 7.0-inch infotainment centre as seen in the Dispatch, providing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring and a DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Diesel models also get ‘Telematic Box for Free2Move Connect Fleet Services’ for business customers.
Several optional packs are available if you want more than entry-level fittings. These add cosmetic, convenience or practical updates to the Relay. Automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and automatic high beam lights are all also available as part of an optional safety pack, costing £750.
The revised Relay range starts with the Panel Van Enterprise L1H1 120hp at £26,390 plus VAT, rising to £34,085 for the Window Van Enterprise L4H2 Heavy 165hp at £34,085. The electric e-Relay runs from £62,785 to £63,685.
