Citroen has teamed up with Citizen Zoo and, with the help of a new all-electric e-Berlingo van, will support the rewilding social enterprise in its activities across the UK.
Citizen Zoo is a London-based conservation organisation specialising in rewilding. Its work includes helping to prevent animal extinctions while combating climate change, and also aiming to boost the mental health and wellbeing of people who enjoy the UK's wild spaces.
Over the coming months, Citizen Zoo will use the e-Berlingo for initiatives such as the renewal of Kingston upon Thames' expansive nature reserve, the reintroduction of beavers to areas of west London, and distributing large marsh grasshoppers across Norfolk. As well as transporting the animals themselves, the e-Berlingo will play a vital role in moving equipment essential for longer-term projects, such as the surveillance of water voles, which were reintroduced last year to a river in southwest London.
Chief Executive Officer of Citizen Zoo, Lucas Ruzo, said:

Importantly for Citizen Zoo, the e-Berlingo will allow it to complete this critical work while creating zero tailpipe emissions, which upholds the commitment the organisation has to environmental sustainability, and to continue its mission to deliver engagement programmes which it hopes will bring people and communities together to create a diverse, beautiful world, full of abundant nature.
