  • 2.0-litre Tiguan R-Line gets power of 265 PS
  • New T-Roc R Black Edition dials up the style
  • Both available to lease imminently

There are two new range-topping Volkswagens in town - the new T-Roc R Black Edition and the 265 PS Tiguan R-Line.

Both will whet the appetite of petrolheads and are available to order this week.

Want to know more? Read on to find out what’ what.

VW Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI 265 PS

What you’re looking at here is the highest-powered petrol Tiguan on sale.

It’s not, though, the most powerful Tiguan available, full stop, as that honour goes to the new 272 PS ‘eHybrid’ plug-in hybrid.

With the 2.0-litre TSI, you get VW’s ‘4MOTION’ all-wheel drive, a seven-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG) and an adaptive chassis control system.

It’s capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 5.9 seconds, which isn’t far off the performance of the BMW X1 M35i xDrive.

Like with any other Tiguan lease, you get a massive 652-litre boot, VW’s latest infotainment system, and tech like hill start assist and hill descent control.

Prices start at £47,540.

VW T-Roc R Black Edition

The performance T-Roc R has been wowing lease customers since it was first released back in 2019. With compact proportions, aggressive exterior styling and power of 300 PS, the T-Roc R is a heap of fun and a breath of fresh air in the crossover market.

Now, though, VW has launched a sultry ‘Black Edition’ of the T-Roc R that dials-up the style.

There are black decorative trims and roof rails, black mirror housings and eye-catching black and diamond-turned 19-inch Estoril alloy wheels.

You also get heated front seats, an electric tailgate, and a sliding and tilting panoramic sunroof

Audiophiles, take note, because the cabin features a Beats sound system with six speakers, a digital eight-channel amplifier and subwoofer.

Like other T-Roc Rs in the VW line-up, acceleration from 0-62 mph goes by in just 4.9 seconds.

Prices begin at £44,250 to purchase outright.
