Move over, McLaren, because a new British hypercar is accelerating into view - the new £2m Naran.
The Naran is the brainchild of Naran Automotive, a UK firm headed by Ameerh Naran - an Indian-Zimbabwean entrepreneur and private jet brokerage specialist.
And it’s a four-seater ‘hyper-coupe’ designed to replicate the GT3 grand touring cars race experience for the road.
Just 39 examples of the Naran will be built, with customers even able to add a unique name to their own car.
Buyers can expect 1,000 bhp, courtesy of a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, as well as a ‘competitive 0-60mph time’, says Naran, but no details have been revealed as yet.
Naran's debut vehicle was initially announced in 2021 and built in Germany before finishing in Coventry.
It’ll get its first proper unveiling later this month at the Salon Privé automotive event at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire.
Naran founder and CEO Ameerh Naran said: "Our cars are about indulging our owners in unparalleled tailoring and visceral performance, offering them all the things they have always dreamed about in a vehicle, in an aesthetic, luxury and driving experience sense. Our unprecedented customisation options mean our customers can even give their vehicle its own name. And, because the car has four seats, our owners can share their vision with others, too."
The Naran’s body has been designed by styling Jowyn Wong, a creator who also penned the De Tomaso P72 - another car powered by a 5.0-litre V8.
Naran owners can choose to add a track-inspired ‘aero pack’ to their vehicles, which boosts downforce.
A Naran spokesperson adds: “Owners of the Naran will have an almost unlimited range of options available to them, with early requests including horse-hair, marble and granite effects, and gold leaf trim.”
