Here’s a first look at the incoming new Volkswagen T-Cross - and with a bold new ‘Grape Yellow’ colour to choose from, it’s difficult to miss!
The T-Cross is the smallest SUV in VW’s range, proving dinkier than the Taigo and the T-Roc.
But it’s still a wholly competent car, coming with power of up to 150 hp and a boot that expands - courtesy of a sliding rear bench of seats - to a very decent 455 litres.
You can lease the current T-Cross with Select from just £228 per month*.
And now a new facelift for the hatchback-SUV crossover will make it even more attractive as an affordable lease car.
The updated T-Cross - which will be available early next year - brings a redesigned front and rear with new integrated LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED taillight clusters.
One of the most eye-catching additions - as you can see in these pics - is the new yellow paint option, which is described as ‘crisp, sporty’. There’s also new ‘Clear Blue Metallic’ and ‘Kings Red Metallic’ to choose from.
There’s a fresh free-standing infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen as standard and the dash panel has been redesigned to offer a more premium feel.
You get the option of VW’s ‘Travel Assist’ software, which is a semi-automated driving system that keeps you centred in your lane and at a safe distance from the car in front.
The VW T-Cross also comes with the option of a removable towbar. The maximum load weight of that has been increased from 55 kg to 75 kg to factor-in the weight of heavy modern e-bikes, which you can attach to the towbar via a dedicated cycle holder.
Imelda Labbé, VW Member of the Brand Board of Management for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales: “We listened carefully to our customers and have systematically built on the strengths of the T-Cross. The revamped design, new infotainment system and enhanced quality of the complete interior are oriented towards the next-higher vehicle segment. Our compact SUV offers plenty of room for a family of five, lots of stowage space, economical engines, and a high level of safety.”
