Volvo is readying to launch a new compact, fully-electric SUV - the EX30.
The dinky new Scandinavian will be revealed in full next month, so for now we’ve just got the one picture to examine.
And because Volvo’s photographer parked about a mile away from the intended subject, the EX30 is still shrouded in mystery!
All Volvo has told us for now is…’thinking small is one of our biggest ideas’.
What we do know is that it’ll slot into Volvo’s range of electric vehicles (EVs) beneath the C40 Recharge and the XC40 Recharge.
The EX30 should be considerably cheaper to lease than those two vehicles, too, potentially slotting into the same market as the Kia Niro EV and the Jeep Avenger (below). You can lease the Niro EV from around £397 per month.
While we’ll have to wait for Volvo to confirm the exact specs, those in the know reckon the EX30 will get a 68 kWh battery that should translate to a range of around 250 miles between charges.
The baby SUV arrives hot on the heels of the much more grown up EX90 - a plush electric seven-seater which rivals premium competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and the BMW iX.
Will bring you further details of the Volvo EX30 in the coming weeks - so watch this space.
