New Vauxhall Mokka - everything you need to know

  • Update for Vauxhall Mokka
  • Revisions cover petrol, hybrid and electric models
  • Sharper exterior styling and added tech
  • Mokka Electric now comes as standard with 54 kWh battery

Fancy more for your money with a Vauxhall Mokka lease? You’re in luck, because a new and improved model has just been revealed.

The Mokka is Vauxhall’s most compact SUV, riding on the same platform as the Vauxhall Corsa while sitting a rung down from the soon-to-be-launched Frontera.

The Mokka has long been a leasing alternative to cars like the Ford Puma and Peugeot 2008 and it’s an award-winner in its own right.

Now the funky crossover is even more tempting, with improvements when it comes to exterior design, interior tech and powertrains.

Here’s the full low-down:

Vauxhall Mokka exterior style

As we reported earlier this month, the Vauxhall Mokka has been treated to a design nip and tuck rather than wholesale changes for the 2025 model year

The trademark ‘Vizor’ front face remains and integrates the headlights and firm’s Griffin into one element. The Mokka has also borrowed bits from the Vauxhall Frontera, including the wing signature LED lights at the front and rear and body-coloured skid plates at the back.

The front bumper has been redesigned to improve aerodynamics while the GS trim (read more about grades below) features practicality-boosting plastic skid plates on the front, rear and wheel arches to provide some ‘sporty elegance’, Vauxhall tells us.

Any previous chrome flourishes on the exterior have also been jettisoned completely.

Vauxhall Mokka cabin and interior

The new Mokka now boasts a ‘subtly enhanced interior’, according to Vauxhall with a more ‘elegant’ centre console and simplified steering wheel.

The big news here is that all models now come with a larger 10-inch touchscreen as standard, which replaces the outgoing 7-inch unit.

Top end Ultimate models also get an uprated navigation system with ChatGPT artificial intelligence integration.

Vauxhall Mokka powertrains

A Vauxhall Mokka lease comes in three distinct flavours - petrol engine, petrol mild hybrid, or fully-electric.

When it comes to the Mokka Electric, the previous 50 kWh battery option has been removed completely, meaning the EV variant can now be leased solely with a larger 54 kWh unit.

That powertrain unlocks power of 156 PS, 260 Nm of torque and a range of up to 250 miles between charges. It’s not exceptionally quick for an EV, with 0-62 mph taking place in 9.0 seconds, but the performance should be ample for most lease customers.

The regular petrol engine is a 1.2-litre unit which now comes with power of at least 130 PS, with the outgoing 100 PS option removed from the line-up. You can boost the power to 136 PS when you opt for the six-speed manual gearbox as opposed to the eight-speed automatic. Whichever you plump for, acceleration from 0-62 mph goes by in 8.9 seconds and you can expect fuel economy of up to 49.5 mpg.

Your other Vauxhall Mokka leasing choice is the Hybrid. It’s a mild-hybrid affair which mates a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 28 hp electric motor and 48-volt tech to produce power of 136 PS.

There are two major advantages to the Hybrid compared with the traditional petrol-engined model. Firstly, fuel economy increases to a possible 58.8 mpg while CO2 emissions shrink to 108 g/km. Secondly, the Hybrid is the most responsive of the trio, capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in 8.2 seconds.

Vauxhall Mokka trim levels

The latest Vauxhall Mokka is available to lease in three distinct grades - Design, GS and Ultimate. And those levels are shared across the petrol, Hybrid and Electric models.

The entry-level Design models are well-equipped as standard, coming with LED headlights, 17-inch alloys, a 10-inch digital display and separate 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors and fabric seats. You also get safety tech like lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

The GS trim adds black painted cladding on the lower grille, larger 18-inch alloys, a black roof, rear privacy glass, ambient lighting, uprated ‘Black Focus’ upholstery, and a 180-degree rear parking camera.

The range-topping Ultimate grade boasts Matrix LED headlights, parking sensors at the front and rear, heated suede seats with massage function, wireless phone charging and heated steering wheel. You also get Vauxhall’s semi-automated ‘Active Drive Assist’ pack, which can slow your speed when it detects curves in the road or automatically change lanes for you if traffic allows. You still need to keep your hands on the steering wheel at all times.

Vauxhall Mokka pricing

The petrol Vauxhall Mokka starts at £24,705 to purchase outright while the Mokka Hybrid begins at £27,305. The entry-level Vauxhall Mokka Electric costs from £33,245, which undercuts both the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia Niro EV.

First time for car leasing and looking back at the process, everything went smoothly. Quite a lot of paperwork to sign before getting a delivery date but i suppose it’s all part of the course. David Harding was very helpful from start to finish and helped me with all the questions that i had. I can’t speak highly enough of David. The car was delivered by a very helpful and pleasant man ( Jim ) , who showed me all that i needed to know about the car. I would recommend select car leasing for all aspects and i have no negatives .
