- Porsche unveils three new Taycan variants
- GTS version of Saloon and Sport Turismo
- Entry-level Saloon now has ‘Taycan 4’ AWD option
- Deliveries to begin early 2025
Porsche has thrown the sheets off three tantalising new Taycan variants - the all-wheel drive Taycan 4, the Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo.
The Taycan enjoyed a major update earlier this year, with improvements across the board when it comes to power, performance and tech.
A new range-topper was introduced in the form of the astonishing 1,100 PS Turbo GT, a car capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 2.2 seconds.
Now three more Taycan variants have joined the party, completing what Porsche calls a ‘16-version family’.
Taycan 4 Saloon
The Taycan 4 saloon is an all-wheel drive version of the entry-level Taycan saloon. It sits alongside the existing ‘4’ variant of the off-road styled Taycan Cross Turismo and gets one electric motor on each of the front and rear axles. The front electric motor is electrically decoupled whenever traction, driving dynamics and driving stability allow it.
The Taycan 4 can be equipped with an 89 kWh or 105 kWh battery and gets a max power output of 435 PS when Launch Control is activated. Opt for the larger ‘Performance Plus’ battery and you’ll also enjoy a range of up to 399 miles between charges.
Porsche adds: “This makes the two versions the undisputed range champs among the all-wheel drive models and puts them only about 35 kilometres below the values of the corresponding Taycan models.”
The Taycan 4 is also quicker off the mark than the RWD model, accelerating from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds.
19-inch alloys, Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and Adaptive Air Suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) are all fitted as standard.
Like with any other Porsche Taycan lease, you can customise the Porsche to your heart’s content with an extensive list of optional extras.
Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo
The GTS is the ‘sporty all-rounder’ of the Taycan world, according to Porsche, and sits between the 4S and the Turbo models.
This update applies to both the GTS saloon and the estate-like GTS Sport Turismo.
What’s new? Well, there’s more power than the previous model, with max 700 PS summoned via the ‘push-to-pass’ function in the standard Sport Chrono package, which is 100 PS more than before.
That boost function lasts for up to 10 seconds, and you even get a countdown timer on the instrument cluster to let you know when it’s time to ease off.
Both the Taycan GTS saloon and the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo can hit 62 mph from a standstill in 3.3 seconds - 0.4 seconds faster than their respective predecessors.
The saloon can also get to 124 mph in 10.4 seconds, which is 1.6 seconds more rapid than before. What’s more, the range between charges has improved - going up to 390 miles.
GTS variants enjoy a dedicated sound profile, which is similar to the Taycan Turbo S, and a din that ‘sets it apart from other Taycan models’, says Porsche.
Style wise, there are black or grey exterior flourishes, sporty front and rear aprons, and 20-inch ‘Taycan Turbo S Aero Design’ alloys fitted as standard.
The cabin also borrows materials from the range-topping Taycan Turbo GT models, as well as 18-way adjustable electric sports seats and a BOSE Surround Sound System.
The adaptive air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is combined with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) as standard. Rear-axle steering is available as an option, as is the Porsche Active Ride suspension control system with GTS-specific tuning.
The Porsche GTS models begin at £117,500 to buy outright while cost for the Taycan 4 saloon is still to be revealed.
