- Revised Mazda CX-60 unveiled
- Set for launch summer 2025
- New suspension designed to improve comfort and handling
- Unchanged engine line-up
This is the ‘evolved’ new Mazda CX-60, with a facelifted version of the accomplished SUV arriving in the summer of next year.
The CX-60 sits in Mazda’s range between the smaller CX-5 and larger, seven-seat CX-80. It's a bona fide award winner, being named 'Large SUV of the Year' in the News UK Motor Awards last year.
Revisions announced this week are subtle. There are no changes to the exterior and the engine line-up remains the same as before.
But Mazda has chosen to improve the suspension set-up of the XC-60 to make it more comfortable and more agile in the bends.
There are softer rear springs as well as firmer shock absorber settings that are aligned with recalibrated stability systems and which Mazda says work to ‘improve overall handling and comfort balance’.
Those changes all feed into Mazda’s famous ‘Jinba Ittai’ philosophy, for the motorist to be ‘as one’ with their machine.
The other big changes come in the cabin.
There are three trims to choose from with a Mazda CX-60 lease - entry-level ‘Exclusive-Line’, mid-grade ‘Homura’ and range-topping ‘Takumi’.
From 2025, Homura models will borrow elements from the flagship Mazda CX-80, including black Nappa leather seats and a revised dash panel.
Customers also get a new metallic paint colour to choose from - Zircon Sand (below)- which is currently only offered on the 2025 Mazda CX-30, Mazda MX-30 and Mazda3.
The Mazda CX-60 will continue to be offered with a choice of two powertrains.
The plug-in hybrid offers power and pace, capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 5.8 seconds, and also unlocks a range of up to 39 miles using electricity alone.
Your other option is a 3.3-litre Skyactiv-D diesel unit that’s supported by mild-hybrid tech and which has power of either 200 PS or 254 PS.
All powertrains are all-wheel drive except the lesser-powered, 200 PS Skyactiv-D diesel, which is rear-wheel drive.
Leasing alternatives to the Mazda CX-60 include the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 at the top end of the scale, as well as the Hyundai Tucson and Ford Kuga.
