- Facelifted new Vauxhall Mokka revealed
- New front face and uprated cabin
- Twin 10-inch screens come as standard
- UK prices still to be revealed
A new Vauxhall Mokka is on the way - and here’s a first look at the subtly-facelifted crossover.
The Mokka is Vauxhall’s most compact SUV, sitting behind the larger Frontera and Grandland in the firm’s range.
And the updates here for the Mokka are small nips and tucks rather than wholesale changes.
The first thing to note is the front end, which is slightly sharper than before. Vauxhall’s black ‘Vizor’ now integrates the headlights and the firm’s Griffin logo into one element, while the LED lights ape those of the Frontera.
On the ‘GS’ trim level, you also get black cladding on the front and rear wheel arches which ‘convey sporty elegance’, says Vauxhall.
In the cabin, there’s a new flattened steering wheel, a redesigned centre console, and switchgear borrowed from the Vauxhall Grandland.
The infotainment system has grown and now comprises a set of twin 10-inch screens as standard.
As before, the new Vauxhall Mokka will be available to lease with a traditional petrol engine, a hybrid powertrain, or as a battery-powered Mokka Electric model.
With the Mokka Electric, Vauxhall has jettisoned the smaller 50 kWh battery and will make do with just the 54 kWh unit instead. That set-up has decent power of 156 hp and will also take you up to 250 miles between charges.
Three trims will be up for grabs - ‘Design’, ‘GS’ and ‘Ultimate’ - in what Vauxhall describes as a decluttering and ‘detox’ of the range.
Prices are yet to be announced and we’ll bring you full specs when we get them.
Rivals to the Vauxhall Mokka include the Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro and Peugeot 2008 - all of which offer a fully-electric option.
