Want one of the world’s most exclusive hypercars and got a spare million quid kicking about?
You need to take a look at the Praga Bohema, a stunning Czech two-seater that has been honed on the track and which has entered production this week.
Praga is one of the world’s oldest car brands, dating way back to the late 1800s.
The road-legal Bohema - first revealed in prototype form back in 2022 - will be hand-built in ‘very low numbers’ over the next four years.
And each example will be dripping in carbon fibre while costing a cool £1.17 million - which is less than half the price of an Aston Martin Valkyrie. So it’s cheap, then…
The Bohema is powered by a 3.8-litre, twin turbo petrol engine - the same unit you’ll find in the now discontinued Nissan GT-R.
Praga has tuned that unit to produce power of 700 hp and because the Bohema weights less than 1,000kgs it’ll accelerate from 0-62mph in around 2.5 seconds.
Tomas Kasparek, owner of Praga Cars, said: “This is an important milestone for Praga in our long 117-year history. We’re especially proud to be commencing production only one year after revealing the Bohema prototype car. We are monitoring every stage of the build process very closely to make sure that the Bohema production car matches, and even exceeds, our customers’ expectations.”
The Bohema has been well and truly put through its paces at famous racetracks like Spa-Francorchamps, the Red Bull Ring and Nürburgring.
Praga also roped-in some of the world’s most famous drivers to hone their beast, including F1 and IndyCar pilot Romain Grosjean and Ben Collins, former Stig of BBC’s Top Gear.
Collins added: “This Summer I travelled across Europe and the Middle East showcasing the Praga Bohema to customers and sharing the unique experience it delivers. As the car goes into production we are one step closer to seeing these incredible cars in customers’ hands on the street, on the track and doing what they were made for. 2024 will be a very special year for Praga and their customers.”
