Here's a new performance-honed Polestar 2 - the mean and moody Polestar 2 BST edition 230.
If you want one of the all-electric fastbacks - which comes with power of 482 PS - you'd better get in there quick, because just 230 units are being made available for Europe and North America.
The regular, common-or-garden Polestar 2 isn't exactly lacking in oomph either.
The most affordable Standard Range Single Motor version is packing 234 PS and can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 7.4 seconds. You can also lease that entry-level Polestar 2 - a fantastic alternative to the Tesla Model 3 - from just £485 per month*.
This Polestar 2 BST edition 230, however, is a different beast entirely.
Polestar says 'exceptional chassis modifications' have been 'developed for ultimate thrills'.
It sits 25mm lower than a regular Polestar 2 and features two-way adjustable suspension dampers from specialists Ohlins, 20% stiffer springs, Brembo brakes and larger 21 inch black alloys.
And because 680 Nm of instant torque can be accessed in a heartbeat, the Polestar 2 BST edition 230 can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and then on to a top speed of 125 mph.
Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, says: "Limited drops like the BST edition 230 allow us to explore colours, graphics and materials in faster and more creative ways."
Besides this limited edition model, the quickest and most powerful 2 in the more accessible Polestar range is the Long Range Dual Motor Performance, which can be leased from around £668 per month* with Select.
While it doesn't look as sporty as the BST edition 230, this particular Polestar 2 is actually quicker, coming with identical power of 482 PS and reaching 62 mph from a standstill in 4.2 seconds.
You also still enjoy a range of up to 367 miles between charges.
