Here’s another look at MINI’s incoming new Aceman electric crossover - a car that promises ‘charismatic simplicity’, according to the manufacturer.
We first caught a glimpse of the Aceman in the summer of last year.
And looking at these new pics of the eye-catching SUV-hatchback, we can’t wait to see it become available to lease next year.
The Aceman will ultimately replace the outgoing Clubman in the MINI range, as the loveable estate is being put out to pasture.
While we don’t yet know what battery will power the Aceman, some suspect it’ll feature a drivetrain that’s roughly similar to the BMW iX1, which will provide a range of around 280 miles between charges.
Meanwhile MINI says a big selling point for the Aceman will be a new digital interface - complete with a circular OLED infotainment screen - that will offer ‘a wide range of options for interaction with the driver’.
A MINI spokesperson explains:
“Together with the redesigned toggle switches, this results in the harmony of digital and analog controls that is typical of MINI.”
To that effect, MINI has also launched a new digital character for the entire MINI model family - Spike the dog.
He’s an English Bulldog, to be precise, and he’ll be on hand to guide MINI lease customers through the car’s operating system as a sort of digital personal assistance. Move over, Alexa, Spike’s in the house!
Our MINI spokesperson adds:
“It’s in the cockpit of the MINI Concept Aceman that Spike really comes into his own. Once the new Spike mode is activated, the digital character gets his time to shine and is brought to life on the circular OLED central display and the dashboard.”
Don’t forget there’s also a brand new MINI Countryman on the way - another fully-electric model that’ll be built in the same German factory as the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.
We’ll bring you more details on both the electric MINI Aceman and the battery-powered MINI Countryman as and when they drop, so watch this space.
