- Maserati GT2 Stradale revealed at Monterey Car Week
- Evolution of the Maserati MC20
- Road legal with power of 640 hp
- Goes on sale next year
If you like the Maserati MC20 but crave something lighter, faster and with an enormous rear wing, we’ve got news for you.
What you’re looking at here is the new Maserati GT2 Stradale.
The Italian manufacturer has taken the regular MC20, decreased the weight by 60 kg, added 10 hp more power to create a grand total of 640 hp, and added an eye-catching aero package. The engine is the same as with the MC20, being a 3.0 litre V6 'Nettuno' mill that's packing pre-chamber combustion tech derived from F1.
The result is a super sports car that’ll devour the track while also being perfectly at home on the road.
It’ll accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.8 seconds while acting as a significant rival to cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Unveiled at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California, Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO, said: “This model intended for everyday driving was created based on the desire to offer our customers more and more in terms of technical mastery, innovation, design and emotions in road driving: on the one hand, we find sophisticated solutions reserved for models designed for track use only, the epitome of Maserati's racing DNA; on the other, we can guarantee optimal comfort paired with all the most advanced driver assistance systems. Maserati GT2 Stradale is a product that can fulfil the requirements of the most discerning enthusiasts, a new creation that expresses the brand’s entire essence.”
There’s no official word yet on price, but you’ll be looking at shelling-out around £300,000.
While the GT2 Stradale is now Maserati’s most powerful road-going car, it’s not the most powerful full stop. That honour goes to the MCXtrema, which is approved for track use only and boasts 730 hp.
