If you’re looking for an SUV lease to give you guaranteed ‘Satisfaction’, look no further than the Hyundai Tucson.
That’s according to a new ‘Satisfaction Index 2023’ put together by the website HonestJohn.co.uk.
It comes after a survey of some 6,000 UK motorists, who were asked to rate their vehicles in terms of practicality, reliability, comfort and performance.
And the Hyundai Tucson SUV was named ‘Best Car’ overall, landing the No.1 slot ahead of runner-up the Kia Xceed.
In fact, it was a good year all round for Korea's Hyundai - with its Ioniq being placed 3rd, and the Hyundai Kona Electric landing 4th place.
It also comes just a matter of weeks after the Hyundai Tucson was named ‘Best Family Car’ by TV’s Top Gear, following a rigorous group test involving lots of different rivals.
Ashley Andrew, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor UK said:
“To have Tucson achieve a first place in the Honest John Satisfaction Index 2023, with Ioniq and Kona Electric not far behind is a true reflection of the complete customer proposition that all Hyundai models offer both in terms of styling and performance but also longer-term reliability, affordability and ease of use.”
The good news for lease customers is that the Tucson singled-out for praise is the current generation, 2021 onwards, version.

And there’s plenty to love about the Tucson, which sits a rung down from the seven-seat Santa Fe in the Hyundai range.
You’ve got the option of mild-hybrid, self-charging hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains - the latter of which has a range of up to 38 miles using electricity alone.
You can expect a whopping-great 539 litre boot - which trumps the luggage space available in both the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Nissan Qashqai.
Meanwhile even entry-level ‘SE Connect’ models come loaded with goodies like Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, rear parking sensors, and dual-zone climate control.
Dan Powell, Senior Editor at HonestJohn.co.uk, said:
“Hyundai’s bold and sophisticated SUV achieved an outstanding average of 96.64% in this year’s Index, with owners praising the Tucson for its performance, practicality and low running costs. The Tucson also achieved one of the highest ratings for build quality, with owners giving the car an average reliability score of 9.96 out of 10. It’s a truly incredible result for a fantastic car.”
Elsewhere in the Honest John survey, Lexus was named the UK's best-rated car brand overall, ahead of Dacia in second place.
Making up the rest of the top five were Tesla, Porsche and Jaguar.
