This is the new off-road focused, all-electric Fisker Ocean Force E.
And with Fisker proudly exclaiming that the Force E is ‘going to be a beast’, it’s a car we’re already excited about.
Let’s rewind slightly to begin with.
Fisker is a Californian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer that is due to make inroads into the UK market this year.
The first car we’ll have available to lease is the Fisker Ocean, an Instagram-friendly SUV (below) that’ll have a range of at least 275 miles between charges and which should cost around £35,970.
Leasing wise, that should make it as affordable as something like the Kia Niro EV or the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric.
The regular Fisker Ocean should be with us in a matter of months after recently undergoing European homologation - the process that approves new vehicles for the roads.
And this new Ocean Force E takes the standard Ocean and puts it on steroids in a bid to ‘broaden EV market appeal’, according to Fisker.
Fisker says the off-road category is currently dominated by internal combustion vehicles, but it wants that to change.
The Force E gets more ground clearance and better ramp angles than the regular Ocean, as well as massive 33 inch all-terrain tyres on 20 inch rims, uprated dampers, and power of 558 PS.
There’s also a full length titanium underbody plate for added protection, as well as front and rear skid plates.
The interesting thing about this concept is that Fisker says the Force E package can be ‘retrofitted’ to the Fisker Ocean Extreme and the Fisker Ocean Ultra - two vehicles that are already all-wheel drive.
Inside the cabin you can enjoy practical rubber floor coverings, extra grab handles and tie-down points.
Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker said:
“This vehicle is going to be a beast. We have pulled out all the stops on this one. I think it’s exciting to enter the segment. And for those who love to go offroad and enjoy nature, what better way than with zero emissions?”
The Force E package is under development at Fisker’s Magic Works division right here in England under the supervision of SVP of Engineering David King, a passionate rally racer in the 1980s and 1990s.
