Fiat Grande Panda will cost less than £20,000

  • A new look at the incoming Fiat Grande Panda.
  • Goes on sale next year with electric or hybrid powertrains.
  • Priced from less than £20,000 to buy outright.
  • Retro looks inspired by the 1980s.

The eye-catching Grande Panda will cost less than £20,000 when it goes on sale next year, Fiat has revealed.

And that should translate to some temptingly-affordable leasing prices, too.

The Grande Panda is, as you might have guessed, a grown-up version of the regular Fiat Panda. It’s got boxy retro looks borrowed from the iconic Pandas from the 1980s.

When it arrives in 2025 it’ll be up for grabs with both a fully-electric powertrain or a hybrid engine.

Now Fiat has revealed how much it’ll cost - as well as some other key stats.

The electric Grande Panda will be underpinned by a 44 kWh battery and 83 kW electric motor which gives it a 195-mile range and a price tag of ‘less than £22,000’. That’ll make it cheaper than the Citroen e-C3 but pricier than the Dacia Spring.

The hybrid Fiat Grande Panda is even more affordable, priced from ‘less than £20,000’, says Fiat.

The Grande Panda might be a compact car for the class, but you still get a 361 litre boot as well as 13 litres of stowage in the dashboard itself.

And another eye-catching element of the Grande Panda’s design is its spiral charging cable, which comes as standard and which takes the faff and mess out of handling bulkier and often grimy charging cables. It works in alternating current up to 7 kW.

Most of all, though, this is a car for the people. Fiat says it’s the ‘blue jeans’ of the automotive industry - ‘something perfect for every occasion and for every customer’.

A Fiat spokesperson adds: “Everything is made even more distinctive and cooler through the presence of rear and front skid plates in silver, glossy-black pillar finishes, privacy windows and 17” diamond-cut alloy wheels with FIAT logo hubcaps and an eye-catching X design.”

It’s certainly not boring, that’s for sure, and we can’t wait to see it in the metal.

As a first time customer to lease a car I have been extremely impressed with the whole experience. The staff at Select Leasing are excellent. They are so helpful and knowledgeable and kept me updated and informed all through the process. I would certainly recommend them if you are considering going down the route of 'leasing' your next vehicle.
