Nope, it’s not a late April Fools story - Fiat really has turned its popular 500 supermini into a boat.
You can now rent one of Fiat’s ‘Car 500 Off-Shore’ aquatic vehicles along Italy’s Amalfi coast.
And they don’t just boast two reclining lounges that are ‘ideal for sunbathing’, they’ll also hit speeds of up to 24 mph thanks to power of 115 hp.
Around 500 units have been built by Fiat, with some also available for purchase.
The Italian manufacturer says the 4.7 metres long boat ‘combines the car’s design, advanced technology and functionality to create a unique and safe sailing experience in a form that perfectly epitomises the spirit of La Dolce Vita’.
The ‘500 of the seas’ also features rounded headlights, rear-view mirrors, and half-wheel arches, ‘maintaining the iconic Fiat 500 silhouette’.
The vessel has room for up to five passengers and also comes with a small swimming platform and ladder.
Prices for the marine Fiat 500 start at an eye-opening £96,780. A ‘Vintage Wedding Proposal’ rental package starts at 1,200 Euros (£1,036).
