New horror film ‘DASHCAM’ sees all hell break loose when a motorist picks up a supernatural hitchhiker.
And if you believe the results of a recent Select Car Leasing survey, the eagerly-anticipated fright flick might not entirely be a work of fiction!
The movie, directed by Host helmer Rob Savage, has started streaming on digital platforms this week - and is already being talked about as the scariest hit of the year.

It sees actress Annie Hardy taking a road trip in England and stopping to give a lift to an elderly lady. It’s only then that Annie realises her passenger might not be from the realm of the living.
If that’s not frightening enough, one in seven Brits who responded to a Select Car Leasing poll back in 2020 also responded ‘Yes!’ to a question asking if they’d ever ‘seen a ghost when driving’.
Greater London was a spectral hotspot, with 36% of respondents from that region believing they’d encountered a haunted road, following by Scotland (15%), North Wales (14%) and the East Midland (10%).
At the time we ran the survey, James O’Malley, Select Car Leasing company director, commented:
“Britain has a rich heritage when it comes to the things that go bump in the night and we’re considered a ‘haunted isle’ for a reason.
“But it’s not just ancient, creaking castles where spooks reside - because there’s almost as many ghosts as there are potholes on our haunted highways!
“Our ancient capital London appears to be a spooky hotspot, with more residents there compared with anywhere else in the UK who claim to have seen a road phantom.”
