Dust-off your Hawaiian shorts and dig the surfboard out of the garage - because Citroen has teamed-up with Rip Curl to launch a new edition of the C3 Aircross.
Rip Curl, headquartered in Australia, is one of the world’s largest boardwear brands and with a gnarly history that goes back to the late 1960s.
And now the firm has lent its famous name to the C3 Aircross Rip Curl - which now sits at the very pinnacle of the C3 Aircross range ahead of the former range-topping ‘Shine Plus’ model.
So, how is this Rip Curl version different to the other incarnations of this popular family SUV crossover?
Firstly, lease customers will enjoy unique 17 inch black ‘Origami’ alloys. They’re fitted with all-season tyres for the best grip possible - should you find yourself negotiating sandy rampways on the way down to the beach.
The Rip Curl C3 Aircross can also be fitted with Citroen’s advanced ‘Grip Control’ system with Hill Descent Assist, to give you even better traction on sand or mud.
Rip Curl models come with a panoramic sunroof fitted with an electric sunblind as standard as well as an up-graded sound system and a colour head-up display.
The exterior features special blue skid plate inserts, blue door mirrors, and those all-important Rip Curl decals.
And there are also blue-coloured flourishes in the interior, too, including sapphire blue leather-effect and cloth upholstery, as well as blue accents on the dashboard, centre console and air vent surrounds.
The eye-catching new Rip Curl trim is available to lease with a choice of two petrol engines and one Diesel powertrain.
The base petrol engine is Citroen’s ‘PureTech 110’ 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit, which is bolted to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The more powerful petrol PureTech 130 powertrain is mated exclusively to an automatic transmission.
Meanwhile the frugal 1.5-litre BlueHDi 110 diesel is a great choice for anyone worried about fuel bills, as it’s capable of returning up to 62.7 mpg.
Prices for the new C3 Aircross Rip Curl start at £23,815 to buy outright.
But remember that the C3 Aircross - a great alternative to the Ford Puma or Skoda Kamiq - can be leased from just £234 per month*.
