Cupra has launched an eye-catching new version of its Formentor SUV - the VZN.
This new limited edition model builds on the range-topping VZ3 trim and adds bespoke styling as well as an uprated interior.
The Formentor VZN is powered exclusively by a 2.0 TSI 310 PS engine - the most powerful unit available in the range - that’s married to 7-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel drive.
Over and above the VZ3 Formentor, the VZN enjoys 19-inch sport black alloys in a matte finish, a matte black grille, cladding, and mirror covers, Dinamica bucket seats and black chrome Cupra lettering.
In the cabin you can expect a premium sound system from Beats Audio, a top view camera and a panoramic sunroof - all of which offers a ‘richer driver and passenger experience with superior comfort’, says Cupra.
These new additions complement what you already get with the VZ3 Formentor, which is Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), park assist and speed sensitive power steering, a leather dashboard with copper stitching, heated super sports steering wheel, and heated front seats.
You’ve got a choice of just two paint options with the VZN Formentor - Midnight Black and Mountain Green - the latter of which is exclusive to this particular edition.
In general, the regular Formentor rivals cars like the Audi Q3 and the Volkswagen Tiguan. The most powerful versions go up against the 300 PS Audi SQ2 and the 320 PS VW Tiguan R.
There’s also a plug-in hybrid Formentor variant - the ‘e-Hybrid’ - which is available with two power outputs, at 204 PS or 245 PS.
The great thing about the e-Hybrid Formentor is that it can return in excess of 200 miles to the gallon and has a range of up to 37 miles using electricity alone.
And yet it’s still quick enough to be considered ‘hot’, with the 245 PS e-Hybrid sprinting from 0-62 mph in 7.0 seconds.
The most powerful VS3 or VZN Formentor, meanwhile, will hit 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds - which is almost as rapid as the Porsche Macan S.
