Citroen has handed extra power and range to its electric e-C4 hatchback and the e-C4 X saloon-SUV crossover.
It’s been a big couple of weeks for this particular brace of Citroens.
The electric e-C4 and its traditionally-fuelled C4 sibling recently scooped the main prize in Auto Express’s annual ‘Driver Power’ survey.

Now a new update from the French manufacturer is likely to make lease customers smile even more.
Up until now, you could lease the Citroen e-C4 and the more distinctive e-C4 X exclusively with a 50 kWh battery that gave it power of 136 hp and a range of up to 220 miles.
Now, however, a new top trim has been introduced - called ‘e-Series’ - across both models, which unlocks a larger 54 kWh battery. That equates to more power, at 154 hp, and an extended range of up to 260 miles.
That’s a decent jump in distance between charges, and it makes the e-C4 and the e-C4 X an even bigger rival to cars like the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric.
A 7.4kW single-phase on-board charger is standard specification across both e-C4 and e-C4 X, with both models also supporting up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% charge completed in around 30 minutes.
The e-Series models also enjoy a bi-tone ‘Perla Nera Black’ roof, 18-inch black alloys, and a swanky ‘Dark Chrome’ colour pack to add further style flourishes.
Inside the cabin, you can expect an uprated sound system, comfier seats covered in Alcantara, and wireless phone charging.
