- Automobili Pininfarina’s B95 Gotham set for real-world debut
- Batman-inspired twist on the regular B95
- Electric hypercar is packing 1,900 hp
- Superhero-sized price of around £4m
Holy four million pound asking price, Batman, the Automobili Pininfarina’s B95 Gotham is making its public debut!
Earlier this year Automobili Pininfarina, the Italian purveyors of luxury EVs for those with the very deepest pockets, announced a new ‘Wayne Enterprises Experience’ collaboration with Warner Bros to produce four one-of-a-kind special editions inspired by the Caped Crusader.
And this is the first of them - the Automobili Pininfarina’s B95 Gotham - which would surely get the nod of approval from Bruce Wayne and his loyal butler Alfred.
The B95 is an open-topped two-seat Barchetta - aka ‘little boat’ in Italian - and only one example will ever be produced, ‘guaranteeing complete exclusivity and collectability for the client’.
It’s expected to cost around £4.4m - a snip for DC’s well-heeled superhero but perhaps out of the price range of mere mortals.
Besides the cost, there’s another big number attached to the B95 Gotham - and that’s the power output, which stands at a colossal 1,900hp, making it the most powerful road car ever produced in Italy and giving it the ability to accelerate from 0-62 mph in less than two seconds.
That power comes courtesy of a 120 kWh battery, which is the same as you get with the regular Automobili Pininfarina B95.
Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, said: “The B95 Gotham exemplifies how we bring our brand promise of ‘Dream Cars, Made Real’ to life for our clients. We place them at the centre of everything we do, and delivering bespoke and coach-built cars like this one is all driven by our vision and commitment to design unforgettable client experiences.”
The B95 Gotham - pictured here next to Batman's ‘Tumbler’ from the Dark Knight Trilogy - features electronically adjustable aero screens to deflect air over the open cabin as well as Wayne Enterprises logos on the body, chassis plate and door plates complete the exterior.
There’s gloss black paint, unique wheels with a matt black inner and gloss black outer ring, and a tan leather interior.
There’s even a driver’s side door plate which reads, ‘All men have limits... I ignore mine’, which is a famous quote attributed to Bruce Wayne in the original comic books.
The Automobili Pininfarina’s B95 Gotham will make its debut at the famous Monterey Car Week in California, USA.
