2017 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport

The highly awaited Vauxhall Insignia has been revealed with the first images of the car unveiled by the UK brand. The new Insignia is bigger, bolder and lighter than the outgoing version and features a class-leading aerodynamic large coupe style look.

The insignia is one of the best-selling cars from Vauxhall having sold over 30,000 in the UK alone in 2015. The company claims to be providing a more athletic appearance, more specious interior and an improved road stance to the new Insignia Grand Sport.

The “Insignia Grand Sport” is based on completely new architecture using the lightweight materials helping bring the weight down by 175kg.

DESIGN AND STYLING

The new Insignia is slightly bigger than outgoing version, featuring a 29mm lower roof and 92mm enlarged wheelbase. That increased wheelbase helps make the car more spacious inside than any of its premium executive rivals.

The overall look is based heavily on the Vauxhall’s Monza concept borrowing slimmer headlights and a more vertical grille than outgoing version. The side of the car is called a “sweepspear” – with a deep crease that starts low down near the sill and moves up before the rear wheel arch.

Its premium seats benefit from a unique combination of side bolster settings, massage, memory and ventilation functions. The heated windscreen will help to dry up the ice very quickly on cold winter days.

ENGINES

The Insignia Grand Sport is going to be offered with a wide range of options including a new eight speed automatic transmission that joins the Insignia line for the first time. It will be initially available in combination with all-wheel drive improving both efficiency and performance. Vauxhall are still yet reveal full engine details.

What are the new features available to Vauxhall’s Insignia Grand Sport?

The headlights of the new Insignia Grand Sport look much sharper and more smart featuring 32 LED segments and there are twice as many as in the Astra; enabling the various light patterns to adapt to the prevailing traffic situation more precisely.

The new Insignia Grand Spot features a wide range of driver assistance systems including head-up display, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and rear cross traffic alert. The rear traffic sensors detect the objects coming from up to 20 metres at a 90-degree angle from left to right behind the vehicle.

Keyless ‘open & smart’ comes as standard on all the trim models. For added ride quality & comfort there are heated rear seats available.

From start to finish the service I received was exceptional! My first time as a lease car customer, wish I had done it years ago as surprised how easy and stress free the process is. Will definitely use select car leasing again. Special thanks to Tom Price whose customer service was exemplary!!
