How does that compare with rival cars? It sits on a par with the entry-level Volkswagen ID.3 and lands in between the Renault Megane E-Tech and the Peugeot e-308.
Lease customers will enjoy power of 156 hp and 270 Nm of torque, which means the Astra Electric can accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.2 seconds.
The Astra Electric also boasts 100 kW DC rapid charging capabilities, which can take the battery from 10-80% full in just 30 minutes.
Whichever trim you choose, you can expect the Astra Electric to be fully loaded with equipment.
Entry level models get 18 inch alloys, a 10 inch infotainment touchscreen with sat nav and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated steering wheel, heated seats, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360 degree panoramic parking camera.
There are driver assistance and safety aids galore, too, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
And because the Vauxhall Astra Electric has zero emissions at the tailpipe, it’s a great car for business lease company car customers, as it attracts a low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate of just 2% until the 2024/25 financial year.
