Land Rover Discovery Frequently Asked Questions
As family cars go, it’s difficult to think of many that tick the number of boxes that a Land Rover Discovery can. It’s a luxurious and spacious large SUV that’s beautifully refined to drive on the road. It’s loaded with the latest technology. Being a Land Rover, it could probably climb a mountain if you wanted it to. Refreshed and revitalised in 2021, it comes with a range of petrol and diesel engines and a large choice of trim levels.
The Land Rover Discovery is a big car from a luxury carmaker, and counts as its rivals cars like the Audi Q7, Volvo XC90 and BMW X4. Leasing rates will reflect that level of exclusivity. But thanks to Select Car Leasing’s market-leading links to the automotive industry, you’ll find that we can offer some of the most competitive rates and special offers in the country. The Discovery blends Land Rover’s enviable history of incredibly capable off-road vehicles with its more modern reputation for luxury. While the brand’s Range Rover models really embrace the luxury angle, the Discovery has a tougher vibe, but it’s still every inch the premium family car. Off-road ability is almost a given for Land Rover, but it really is top-notch, and if you need to head away from the tarmac on a regular basis then there aren’t many better cars in which to do it. Its three rows of seats can house up to seven in comfort, and new-for-2021 infotainment systems will keep them informed and entertained.
The Discovery was tested by independent safety organisation Euro NCAP in 2017, and was awarded the maximum five-star score. Plenty of features are included as standard, but more are added on higher trim levels, or if you choose them from the options list. Practicality is one of the Discovery’s trump cards, and it boasts seven seats, all of which have an impressive amount of space. The boot can be tight with all seven seats in place, but fold them down (which you can do individually) and the Discovery opens up a massive amount of storage space. So much so, in fact, that Land Rover even offers a commercial version that’s basically a very posh van.
The Discovery range starts with the S model, which is well kitted-out with LED lights, 20-inch alloy wheels, comfy air suspension and leather seats. There are also three R-Dynamic models (S, SE, HSE), which have a sportier look to them, and extra features. Lastly, Land Rover regularly offers special edition models. At the time of writing, the choice is the Metropolitan Edition, which has contrasting two-tone paintwork, a beefy Meridian sound system and big 22-inch alloy wheels.
