About the BYD Seal U SUV

BYD typically specialises in fully-electric vehicles, with cars like the Atto 3 SUV, Dolphin crossover and the Seal saloon.

The Seal U - a compact SUV first introduced in 2024 - offers something different as it boasts a fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain that should appeal to lots of different lease customers.

The style of the Seal U mirrors that of the BYD Seal saloon, coming with an X-shaped front end and U-shaped headlights that blend into the bonnet.

There’s also a sophisticated cabin that features wrap-around ambient lighting, two large digital screens, heated and ventilated front seats, and an eye-catching crystal gear shifter.

Why lease a BYD Seal U SUV?

Motorists will be attracted to the BYD Seal U because it boasts the best of all worlds.

Its plug-in hybrid engine can travel up to 78 miles using electricity, meaning some urban drivers will never need to switch it out of ‘EV’ mode.

There’s ample amounts of power, too, with range-topping models equipped with 324 PS, 550 Nm of torque, and 0-62mph acceleration time of just 5.9 seconds.

Fast 18 kW DC charging can also take the Seal U’s battery 30-80 percent full in 35 minutes.

Which BYD Seal U powertrain is right for me?

26.6 kWh ‘Blade’ battery

The ‘Comfort’ grade BYD Seal U gets a larger 26.6 kWh battery, working in conjunction with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which unlocks an EV range of up to 78 miles.
