BMW iX1 Review
BMW has wrenched out the engine from its new X1 and replaced it with an electric motor – a risky strategy that doesn’t always work. So, has it?
We’re open for business over Christmas! (We are closed Xmas, Boxing and New Year’s Days and from 2pm Xmas and New Year’s Eve)
The BMW iX1 is an attractive, compact, fully electric SUV that competes with the Tesla Model Y, Audi Q4 e-tron and the Volvo XC40.
And with a range of up to 296 miles between charges and impressive amounts of power, you can see why it makes sense as a versatile lease vehicle.
The iX1 sits behind the larger iX3 and full fat iX in BMW’s range of SUVs, and therefore fills an important niche for families who want to go green but still need decent amounts of luggage space.

You can also consider the iX1 and electrified version of the traditionally-fuelled BMW X1 SUV, and a safe bet for company car drivers who want to take advantage of ultra-low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax.
Attractive ‘iX1 xDrive 30’ variants have power of 313hp, thanks to a large 64.7kWh battery.
A more affordable ‘eDrive20’ powertrain was added in 2023, and opens-up the iX1 to even more lease customers, while also boasting a 296-mile maximum range.
A 11kW charging unit is standard, while you can also opt for a 22kW three-phase AC charger, which can replenish the battery in under four hours.
There’s also rapid DC charging capability, at up to 130kW, which means you can take the battery from 10 to 80% full in just 29 minutes.
In terms of kit offered as standard, you can expect a sumptuous interior featuring an eye-catching curved digital screen with a cabin that’s been built with sustainability in mind.
You also get a suite of driver assistance systems, including reverse assist, park assist, and BMW’s ‘Driving Assistant Professional’ package, which automatically maintains your speed, the position in your lane and the distance to the car in front when travelling on the highway.

This is the 2nd car I have leased from Select. I have found the process easy to follow and have always found Aron Stevenson the leading consultant I have dealt with , to be very helpful and efficient .
Stephen Hood was outstanding in guiding me through the return of my old lease vehicle and finding me a fantastic new deal on a BMW. Very happy !
Callum my agent was very helpful and efficient. From start to finish he always kept me updated on developments and when we had a slight delay on the delivery date he was in touch with me constantly to update. My car spec is exactly what I ordered and as soon as it was delivered I received a courtesy call from Callum. I would highly recommend select car to anyone!
