Lease a LEVC VN5 electric van and, thanks to a partnership deal between London Electric Vehicle Company and Geotab, you’ll find state-of-the-art fleet management telematics built-in.
The new system allows information to be fed directly from the VN5 van to the customer’s desktop computer or smartphone device. This data can then be monitored and compared via the MyGeotab dashboard, so customers can control the way their vehicles operate.
Every new LEVC vehicle will now come with 12 months of access to the MyGeotab dashboard, effectively giving users a free and unrestricted trial of the system before they decide whether to continue subscribing after the year is up.
At £300 per vehicle, per year, the cost isn’t insignificant but could provide excellent value.
What can a fleet manager see in the data? Simple things such as the battery’s state of charge, mileage trends, driver styles and vehicle utilisation levels both in real-time and after the event allows systems to be introduced to make savings on energy costs.
The software can help with the selection of the most cost-effective charging options, as well as being able to optimise routings and driver speeds for even greater fuel efficiency.
Data from Geotab can also be integrated into existing telematics dashboards from other suppliers if required.
As well as the regular MyGeotab monitoring, the LEVC system allows users to access add-on hardware and software for integration via Geotab Marketplace, allowing the system to be tailored to suit their particular business needs.

The LEVC VN5 Van
The VN5 is based on the same platform and uses the same battery technology as LEVC’s TX electric taxi. With an electric range of over 60 miles and, thanks to the addition of a petrol-powered range extender, a total flexible range of 304 miles, VN5 is well suited to urban deliveries in zero-emission mode as well as being capable on longer journeys outside of town.
Two euro pallets will fit in the back of the van, with up to 5.5m3 of cargo capacity available, with a large side door allowing for them to be side-loaded with ease, while asymmetric doors at the rear open beyond 180-degrees making loading and unloading a cinch. A gross payload of up to 830kg means it’s also suitable for most urban users.
