Renault Trucks is extending its range of high-specification light commercial vehicles with the launch of the Trafic Red Edition.
Eight Colours Red
The Red Edition – a name Renault Trucks' uses exclusively on its range of LCVs - has a chrome grille and body-coloured bumper, together with matching painted side door rail and light bar. There are touches of colour within the cabin too, which nod to the truck being part of the exclusive range, with the gear stick ringed in red, red seat belts, and a wheel centre that’s also painted in the characteristic colour.
Externally, it’s available in eight colours; Glacier White, Carmine Red, Magma Red, Highland Grey, Comet Grey, Urban Grey, Midnight Black and Cumulus Blue.
To finish the look, the distinctive Renault Trucks nameplate is fixed to the bodywork of the Trafic, and additional exterior graphics are also available.
A Flexible Van
Looking remarkably similar to the Renault Trafic, the Renault Trucks Trafic is available in 2.8-3.1 tonne versions, with two length and height options for the panel van, two double-cab models, a floor cab and two combi versions. The smallest variant measures five metres long, making it suitable for tight urban parking spaces, while the low height models come in under two metres high, allowing access to many car parks and other height-restricted areas.
Fully customisable, cargo capacity can reach as far as 8.9m3, while payload limits to out at 1,300kg. The Trafic Red Edition is also equipped with an optional aluminium sill to make loading and unloading easier and has a sheet metal partition with a load hatch which is ideal for longer cargo such as ducts or pipes.
The rear doors can be opened to 270°, while the loading area is fitted with LED lighting for improved visibility. There’s a 12V power socket fitted and, as an option, a tailgate, interior ladder rack and towing hooks, allowing it to tow up to 2.5 tonnes.
To aid with vehicle conversions, the Trafic Red also has an engine power take-off, an additional wiring box and a body adaptation box.
There are four engines available, ranging from 110hp up to 170hp, each coupled with an automatic gearbox. If you prefer a manual box, these are available as an option. A stability control system is joined by front and rear radar, lane departure warning, side wind assist and blind-spot warning systems for increased safety. For those venturing away from smooth tarmac, Renault’s Extended Grip system is included, improving the van's off-road abilities.
Renault Trucks Difference
Taking a van from a truck manufacturer sounds counterintuitive, but the firm's HGV experience creates a service level that regular Renault dealers can’t match. The Renault Trucks Fast & Pro brand offers quick appointments, extended opening hours (often 24 hours) and repair and maintenance operations. While there are fewer Renault Truck dealers than regular Renault dealers, the backup provided could make the difference for users pushing their vans to the limit. The Renault Trucks Trafic is also backed with a three-year, 100,000 miles parts and labour warranty, as well as 24/7 breakdown assistance.
