This is the Mobilize Bento electric micro van - and it's heading to the UK next year.

Mobilize is an arm of French manufacturer Renault. And the Bento - already introduced in France and destined for Britain in 2025 - is a quirky EV cargo carrier that's designed specifically for businesses operating in congested urban environments.
Built on the same electric quadricycle platform as the Mobilize Duo, the Bento features a 649-litre cargo box, making it an ideal option for small-scale deliveries and service operations. Despite its compact size, it offers generous storage capacity and is agile enough to navigate even the tightest city streets with ease.
Powered by a 10.3 kWh battery, the Bento delivers a driving range of up to 92 miles on a full charge — more than sufficient for typical city-based tasks. Recharging is simple: an hour of charging via a standard household outlet provides an additional 15 miles of range. For businesses with access to faster charging points, an optional Type 2 plug is available, reducing downtime by accelerating charging, increasing productivity.
At just 2.54 metres long and 1.30 metres wide, the Bento is half the size of a standard city car. This small footprint allows it to handle dense traffic and fit into tight spaces, while its 6.8-metre turning radius makes sharp turns and parking in congested areas hassle-free — up to three Bento vehicles can fit side-by-side in a traditional parking space, providing businesses with added convenience in busy urban centres.
The Bento is tailored for businesses, especially those in service and last-mile delivery industries. The chunky cargo box at the back of the vehicle can carry up to 649 litres of cargo, making it well-suited for transporting anything from parcels for delivery, local store goods, as the pictures here show, lots of pairs of trainers. Its compact dimensions allow it to reach areas where larger vans may struggle, allowing businesses to get into central urban zones with ease. The Bento also offers branding opportunities, with an exterior offering plenty of space for decals, turning it into a mobile advertisement while serving customers.
Safety is a top priority with the Bento, which stands out as the only quadricycle in its class equipped with a driver airbag and seat belts with force limiters. It also features Renault’s Fireman Access system, which allows emergency responders to quickly access the battery in the event of a fire.
Despite its compact size, the Bento ensures driver comfort. A heated driver’s seat and windscreen combat cold mornings, while manual air conditioning provides a cool environment in warmer months. Its suspension is designed to handle city driving, smoothing out bumps and uneven road surfaces commonly found in urban settings.
The Bento is equipped with advanced connectivity features aimed at optimising fleet operations. The MyDuo app allows fleet managers to reserve vehicles, distribute digital keys, and set geographic boundaries using a geofencing system — this feature ensures the vehicle remains within designated zones and alerts managers if it leaves. A Battery Charge Inhibition function enables fleet managers to remotely stop charging if necessary, helping prevent unauthorised vehicle use.
For added convenience, drivers will find Bluetooth connectivity and a USB-C port for charging smartphones or streaming media. The “boombox” dashboard, inspired by 1980s culture, adds a retro touch to the cabin while providing practical storage options.
Mobilize Bento Pricing
The Mobilize Bento is priced at €10,000 (about £8,400) in France, excluding tax and after an eco-bonus. And as a certified commercial vehicle, it’s eligible for VAT recovery in some places. Renault’s extensive network will handle sales and after-sales service, so businesses can count on solid support.
It's expected to go on sale in the UK in the middle of 2025.
