Stellantis and Iveco have struck a new partnership that will see two all-electric vans join the European and UK markets by 2026, expanding Iveco’s range as it targets the fast-growing electric van sector.
Rather than creating new vans, Iveco will be putting its name to existing medium and large Stellantis products. The medium-sized van will effectively be a rebadged Vauxhall Vivaro, with the large being the Vauxhall Movano wearing a new badge. They will join the larger Iveco eDaily to broaden Iveco’s all-electric line-up.
Luca Sra, president of Iveco’s truck business unit: “We are excited to add two innovative and versatile battery electric vans to our Light Commercial Vehicle line-up, boosting our competitiveness in the van segment. By choosing to partner with Stellantis Pro One, we are leveraging the extensive know-how and strong presence in Italy and Europe that historically tie our companies. I am confident that this winning collaboration will benefit our European customers, in particular for the success of their last-mile logistics businesses.”
The Iveco-badged vans will be manufactured at Stellantis plants in Hordain (France), Atessa (Italy) and Gliwice (Poland), with distribution across Europe being handled by Iveco through its established sales and service networks.
These new, lighter models will mean that Iveco can cater to a broader range of weight segments. The medium van will have a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 2.8 to 3.1 tonnes, while the larger van will cover 3.5 to 4.25 tonnes.
Iveco’s existing Italian-made eDaily van covers a large breadth of sizes, with some models having a gross vehicle weight of 7.2 tonnes and payloads approaching 4.0 tonnes. However, its 3.5-tonne variant struggles to match the payloads and low cost of light commercial rivals. By adding these lighter models, Iveco will better meet the needs of urban, last-mile operations.
The partnership, which underscores both companies’ commitment to sustainability, covers a ten-year supply plan and is expected to deliver the first of the new vans by mid-2026.
Jean Philippe Imparato, chief operating officer of Stellantis in Europe: “We are proud to collaborate with an Italian and world-leading company like IVECO, and this happened because we are European LCV market leaders thanks to our operational excellence, the quality of our products, and our ability to develop battery drive technology, which helps reduce polluting emissions and protect the environment.”
