Isuzu has begun sales for its limited edition D-Max V-Cross Steel Edition, with the order book being thrown open for the new pick-up at the Commercial Vehicle Show.
Just 300 will be offered, and each will have myriad cosmetic touches to distinguish the Steel model from the regular D-Max. It comes in Steel Grey Mica — a colour exclusive to the model — with dark grey wheel arch extensions, roof rails, and matching Isuzu branding. ‘STEEL’ branding will be evident throughout, too, so it will stand out from the crowd.
Like the top-of-the-range V-Cross variant, the Steel Edition will have automatic Bi-LED headlights, windscreen wipers, parking sensors, a reversing camera, and electric folding mirrors. It will sit atop 18-inch alloy wheels, with side steps and keyless entry for easy access.
Once inside, the seats are upholstered with leather, and the driver’s seat is electrically adjustable with power lumbar support. Dual-zone climate control will ensure comfort for both the driver and passengers, while the 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen has Bluetooth and DAB connectivity, as well as both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to make it easy to keep the music pumping through the sound system
While packed with these comfort touches, the D-Max V-Cross Steel Edition hasn’t gone soft — it still has the same commercial vehicle capabilities as other Isuzu pick-ups across the range. It has a one-tonne payload capability, a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, a rear differential lock, and a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system. Add in the 800mm wading depth and the Steel Edition is ready to take on challenging terrain.
Customers also benefit from a five-year or 125,000-mile warranty with five years of roadside assistance.
The Isuzu D-Max Steel Edition is available with a six-speed manual gearbox, priced at £38,495 plus VAT or with a six-speed automatic transmission, priced at £39,995 before tax.
