It's Official - Your Car Makes You More Attractive.
- Having a nice car can change you from a 4/10 to an 8/10 according to a recent survey.
- 72% of women hate a messy car.
- 71% of women don’t care what spec your car is.
- 91% of women want a man who’s a good driver.
- 79% of women expect you to be able to fix a flat tyre.
- 58% of women say a man’s car affects his date-ability.
- Woman say that an Audi makes a man more attractive than a BMW.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been trying to find out once and for all whether women find men more attractive if they own a nice car? The results were amazing. To do this we commissioned a survey of 1500 women, between the ages of 20 and 35, to discover what women really think about a man's car and whether it affects his datability.
Women were shown a picture of a man either by himself or with one of 8 different cars. Their scores were then averaged out to find out which car had the biggest impact on his attractiveness.

The Results
As you can see, the photograph with the gentlemen pictured next to the Mercedes C-Class scored the highest, with a very impressive 8/10. The lowest score went to the photograph of the gentleman stood next to the Fiat Multipla, only receiving a score of 4/10.
This shows that women do care about what a man drives. Although it is probably subconscious, a classier car does apparently make you more attractive.
Now maybe that was to be predicted but, how come the Mercedes beat the Ferrari? Does this mean that women are put off by a man who owns a super car? Also, what about when it came down to the Audi, BMW and Mercedes, three of the biggest rivals in motoring? As you can see, the Mercedes came out on top, also a little predictable, as a Mercedes does have that “executive” feel to it. But what about the Audi and BMW? Interestingly the Audi just pipped the BMW, ranking the guy slightly higher.
Afterwards we asked all the women some more general questions around dating and cars.
First, we asked about the state of a man’s car and whether having a messy car mattered? It turns out it does, with a massive 72% of women saying yes.

And how about the exterior? If a man’s car is caked in mud, is that such a bad thing? Again, a BIG yes with 61% of women saying it did matter.

We then asked the women if a man’s car was the “base model”, would it matter? A colossal 71% said no. While 15% didn't know what a base model was.

What about how a man drives. Do women care if a man can drive well? A staggering 91% of women said yes!
Should you be able to change a wheel?
We also wondered what women expect from men if the car suddenly needs maintenance. A huge 79% the women we asked expected men to be able to change a flat tire. Mechanics, it’s your lucky day!
For the final question, we asked if the second 750 women cared what car a guy drives in terms of his date-ability, bearing in mind they’ve already ranked the generic man above. Interestingly, 42% of women said ‘not at all’, 18% said ‘it shouldn’t but it does’, 26% said ‘a little’ and only 14% said ‘yes, a lot’. Does this mean that women say they don’t care but subconsciously they actually do?!
So there you have it, the real answer to the age old question, do women find you more attractive if you have a nice car?
