All-wheel drive VW ID. Buzz GTX arrives!

  • VW ID. Buzz GTX arrives with power of 340 PS
  • Priced from £67,435
  • Long wheelbase seven-seat also now available
  • Performance Buzz GTX can also be leased with seven seats

Here’s a fully-electric love bus you really can love - the new VW ID. Buzz GTX, boasting 340 PS and an acceleration time that’d worry some hot hatches.

First revealed in March, order books for the ID. Buzz GTX have now opened, with prices starting at £67,435. You’ll be able to lease one imminently, too. And don't forget you can also lease the ID. Buzz as a commercial van in the form of the ID. Buzz Cargo.

You get two electric motors, a range of up to 295 miles between charges, and the ability to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 6.1 seconds.

Rapid DC charging at up to 185 kW can take the energy in the battery from 10-80% in just 26 minutes.

Meanwhile the ID. Buzz GTX can also be leased as a full-blown seven-seater. It gets a larger 86 kWh battery compared with the 79 kWh unit fitted in the regular GTX as well as a 1,600 kg towing capacity.

The 7-seat ID. Buzz GTX is just a shade more expensive than the 5-seat Buzz GTX, with a £67,945 price tag.

Besides the range-topping GTX variants, the common-or-garden ID. Buzz is also now available as a full-blown seven seater.

The larger 86 kWh battery here gives power of 286 PS and a range of up to 291 miles between trips to the plug, while 200 kW DC rapid charging is welcome.

The 7-seat model is now slouch either, able to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 7.9 seconds.

If you don’t want the full seven seats, a six seat configuration is also available - while the third row can be removed completely if you want even more luggage space. Speaking of which, the 7-seat Buzz has a 306-litre boot behind the rear-most seats.

There are two trim levels to choose from with the long wheelbase ID. Buzz - ‘Life’ and ‘Style’.

Entry-level Life models get 19-inch alloys, twin sliding doors, a 12.9-inch colour touchscreen with sat nav, heated seats, adaptive cruise control, and ambient lighting.

The Style grade adds extras like larger 20-inch alloys, LED Matrix headlights, power sliding doors, a head-up display, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.

The ID. Buzz GTX, meanwhile, gets 21-inch black alloys, a panoramic glass roof, 30-colour ambient lighting, microfleece seat upholstery with red stitching, and a power tailgate.

This is the 2nd car I have leased from Select. I have found the process easy to follow and have always found Aron Stevenson the leading consultant I have dealt with , to be very helpful and efficient .
