VW has already removed the Up! from its UK website landing page and now - according to Autocar - the final example has rolled off the production line in Slovakia.
It ends a 10-year run of success for the Up!, having arrived with a bang by winning the What Car? Car of the Year trophy in 2012.
The good news is that the VW Up! is still available to lease, while stocks last. But if you want one, you’d be wise to get in there now while you still can.
What’s to love about the Up!?
Well, it’s affordable, first and foremost. You can lease a VW Up! with Select from just £219 per month*.
You get lots of kit fitted as standard, even on entry-level models. That includes full phone connectivity, a 5-inch screen, stop-start engine tech, and safety gadgets like lane assist.
Three-door and more practical five-door body styles are up for grabs, the latter of which turns the Up! into a proper school run machine.
Meanwhile the range-topping R-Line model gets lowered sports suspension, tinted windows, larger 16-inch alloys, and unique styling both inside and out.
A plucky little 1.0 litre petrol engine will ensure you keep your fuel costs low.
Rivals for the Up! include the equally affordable Kia Picanto, Fiat 500, and Hyundai i10 - the latter of which can be leased right now with Select from just £170 per month*.
